Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society (CVIMS) is a non-profit organization located on the Traditional Territories of Snuneymuxw and Snaw-Naw-As First Nations, what is known now as Nanaimo, British Columbia. Established in 1979, CVIMS provides services to newcomers and refugees through settlement, employment and English language support. As a community-based, client-driven agency, CVIMS is committed to being accessible and responsive to our diverse community.

Provide individualized career coaching and job search support to immigrants and refugees to help them integrate into the Canadian workforce. Develop partnerships with local employers and facilitate workshops on job readiness and workplace culture.

Provide direct settlement, employment, housing, and orientation services to newcomers eligible for the BC Safe Haven program. Develop strategies for refugee claimants and coordinate with community resources to facilitate successful integration into Canada.
